| 8 /15 /98 | I finally get my loan approved... I ended up paying $10,200 total. The car is is great shape, a few minor blemishes. The only thing that I am concerned about is the mileage. 72,000. But from what I hear, I do not have to worry about that cause Honda's will run forever! I am soo excited. |
| 8 /16 /98 | I put my Sony CD Player in, It was easier than I thought. I did not get the harness to connect to the factory one. I just snipped the factory harness off and did a direct wire. I did it with no diagram either. Just a Voltometer. :) These factory speakers really suck. I will have to start thinking about replacing them. |
| 8 /18 /98 | I am still getting used to driving a manual, but it is fun, You have a lot more control over the engine... better gas mileage too. I have only used a quarter tank of gas! |
| 8 /23 /98 | I decided to replace the factory speakers. It took me forever to figure out what brand to go with. I decided to go with Alpine. I want to do my whole system with the same brand. So you say why go not Sony, you already have the Head-Unit. Well, put it this way, Sony speakers suck! Today I only got the back speakers, the 6x9s. I could not wait to hear them. I went strait home and hooked them up.. They sound pretty good, a hell of a lot better that the OEs. |
| 8 /24 /98 | After really listen to the 6x9s I decided that they did not have enough power and needed a real amp to push them. But the quality of the sound is Excellent, very clear. I think I will get the 5.25s for the front doors. Maybe tomorrow I will get them. |
| 8 /25 /98 | Busy day, no time to get to the store... |
| 8 /26 /98 | I made it to the store today. I bought the 5.25s and an amp. I got an Alpine MRP-F256. Puts out a little bit more than my head-unit, but it will be Much more crisp. I think I will put all this stuff in tomorrow. The Door Panels look pretty tricky. No screws!! :) Plus I have to do the power wire, remote, and RCA's for the amp. |
| 8 /27 /98 | Now I have some sound! This set-up sounds great! The door panels were not that hard, just putting them back on. :) I used 4 gauge Stinger power wire and Monster Cable RCA's, I ran 2 sets of RCA's, my head-unit has 2 pre-amp outputs (front/back). I used 4 gauge wire because I know that in the future I will add subs, and in-tern, a larger amp. |
| 9 /3 /98 | Today I was checking out WebPages and came across this one. The site is of a '95 Black Honda Accord EX.. It rocks! I really like the way his looks... I was unsure of the clear turn/bumper lights, but they look good. That may be my next add-on. |
| 9 /5 /98 | I went to the store today and got the clear lenses. I did not get the bumper ones yet they had to order them. They will be in next Fri. I did get the turn signal ones.. They look good. I also got a MOMO shift knob and a leather boot. It took me about 30min. to put the new knob and boot on, and about 5 min. to put the lenses on. |
| 9 /6 /98 | The shift knob is nice, feels better than that damn cheap plastic thing. |
| 9 /8 /98 | I decided that I really need an alarm.. This key in the door business is getting really lame, quick. I have an apt. on Fri. to get one installed.. I chose the Alpine SEC - 8052, with optional pager system. I think for a good deal, $500 installed. This alarm has it all, Dual Stage Shock/ Dual Stage Prox. It kicks ass. I can not wait. |
| 9 /10 /98 | I am getting exited about my alarm and the clear bumper lenses. I think I will get those amber ion bulbs tomorrow when I get my alarm installed. |
| 9 /11 /98 | Good news and Bad news... I will get the bad out first. I dropped my car off as planed, 10 am. I get a call on my Cell Phone at 10:30 am. The people at the shop really messed this one up.. They said, "we are sorry, we do not have the alarm you requested in-stock" I was pissed... The salesman said, " hold on just a minute, let me see what we can do." Here is the good news. The offered me a different alarm. The Python 3000HF with DEI's Pager.. It is normally like a $800 system but they gave it to me for $500. The Python has all that the Alpine does and more.. I get the High Frequecy remote range.. I think it is like 150 feet!! and I get like 5 more Channels on the remote. So later I can get the windows, radio, fog lights, and other crap on my alarm remote.. I also picked up my clear bumper lenses and a set of Gold Dust Halogen Headlight bulbs. It turned out to be a good day after all. |
| 9 /12 /98 | I put the Bulbs and lenses on today.. It makes the front look like an entirely different car.. I like the look.. The Amber Bulbs are Bright as balls. You can every see them during day! :) |
| 9 /13 /98 | I ordered my lowering springs today. I found a set used. The guy the I was talking about earlier had a set of Eibach Sportline Springs, So he is sending them FedEx COD, to me. |
| 9 /16 /98 | I was on the internet and read about the K&N Air Filter. They look like a wise investment. I ordered one from a local speed shop. It will be in tomorrow. |
| 9 /17 /98 | Well I did not get to see the difference in air filters. I went and picked up the filter, took it home and found out it was the wrong one. Man This Sucks.. I called the store up and they said, "Oops, that was for the smaller engine", is the one in a '94?? Oh well they ordered the right one for Saturday.. |
| 9 /18 /98 | The Eibach springs got here today. I can not wait to get them put on. I would put them on, but working a spring compressor is not my thing, if you know what I mean. My Girlfriends Brother-in-law works at a Garage and said he will put them on next Saturday. |
| 9 /19 /98 | This is the right one.. There is a slightly noticeable difference in performance. I definitely get a little worse gas mileage, but it is worth the minor performance boost. |
| 9 /23 /98 | Today was a good day. I went with my friend looking for cars. He got a '95 Honda Accord EX Sedan, just like mine. It is light blue. They really did not do much between 94 and 95. Once he gets underway with his car, I will put some pics/specs up. My car is still doing great. Looked at the odometer and already got almost 74,000. I can not believe how these cars last. |
| 9 /24 /98 | Man... Today was really
weird. I got in my car today to go to school, and I'll be damned my battery was
dead. I thought that I may just have left something on, so I gave it a jump.
It started right up. I figured after I drove it for a while the battery should be
fine. Well I was wrong. I stopped at the shell station and it would not
start again... I got this guy to jump me and drove it home. Then I thought, maybe if
I slow charged it, I could get some kind of charge. I hooked my charger up and it
would not charge it, It said that the battery was fully charged. So I had to go and
get a new one. I got the best battery Exide has to offer. The Nascar Select
1100. This battery is awesome. It starts my car twice as fast. Click,
vrooom. :) before it took a second. Well in the progress I burned up some fuses,
Oops. I burned my inline to my amps and my master 100amper. Don't ask me
how. While I was at the store I got some oil and a filter, for my first oil
change. I got Mobil 1, the fully synthetic stuff and I got a Fram double guard
filter with Teflon particles. Maybe I will change my oil tomorrow. All this
expensive synthetic stuff better make it purr. It will cost me $26 an oil
change. $4 dollars a quart and $10 for the filter. I think it is worth
it. :) Spring up-date: I may not get the springs installed this Saturday. I am going tuna fishing Sunday, early (like 3am). We may go down Saturday morning and do some surf fishing. :) |
| 9 /29 /98 | Today was terrible! This past weekend I did not get my springs installed. :( So, being the impatient person I am, I took matters in my own hands. I went out and got a spring compresser and went to it. I got the front done in about an hour and a half... Not too bad. I figured the back should be easier... Well, um, it wasn't. The damn bolt were locked up. And the nut was welded on. what a bitch. So, I twisted the damn heads of the bolts, not on purpose of course. This really sucked. I thought if I sawed the nut of it would free up, well I was wrong. I did get the struts off though and put the springs on. The problem was in the bushing the bolt was stuck in the bushing I tried heat and a lot of force, no go. I tried to drill it out but no luck. The steal was too hard, even with a cobalt bit. So, I figured, let the profesionals take over, I was just too pised. I put the tires on and let it down. DAMN... That put it on the ground, my mufler what supporting the car!!! This really sucks. I called, got a tow truck, cause I could not drive it. When they showed up, the driver almost had a heart attack. He asked ME how to get it on the truck. So I said I would drive it up. It was painful.. The thing scraped all the way to the bed. I had to have two of my friend lift the rear of my car to even get on the ramp. Then I drove, or should I say draged the rest of the way up. I called the shop and they made me bring the original spring down, because, "we can only install factory Honda parts. This really pissed me off. But I figure that the bolt should come right off when I get home. :) Maybe. So this step is really putting me behind. Oh well. They can not look at it untill tommorow, so I will tune you in tommorow... Oh yea, I took some pictures. I will put them up after I get the film developed. |
| 9 /30 /98 | Well I got the call at about 8:30 in the
morning. They told me that I could just get the bushings replaced, instead of the
whole arm.. Which kindof relieved me.. then he said it would cost about $700
dollars.. I had no choice. He also told me that he talked to his manager and
asked if they could put the aftermarket springs in.. And he said well.... ok, but we
can not give a warranty on them.. that made me happy. so I will get my car back on
friday, they have to order the parts. * I forgot to tell you that i took pictures of my car when there was not suspension in the back.. I will post them too. |
| 10 /2 /98 | Today I finally got my car back. $650 dollars later. Labor is not cheap... $490 of the cost. They replaced the bushing and bolts. It is finally done!! I am still really pissed about the cost but... It looks awsome, and drives like a dream. It is very low. I can hardly get over a speed bump, without ripping my undercariage out. :) I measure the ride hieght before and after and the difference is like 2.5" in the front, not 1.7" like advertised.. which is ok with me. This winter I may be complaining though. :) The weather has been really crummy so I will take some pictures on a nicer day. |
| 10 /3 /98 | Today I noticed a slight thumping in the wheel. I thought that it was the springs slipping, because they just barely fit, with out falling out. Then I was reading the journal of the guy that I bought the springs from and He was talking about how he almost lost his wheel. That there was a thumping sound only on the coast, (the same thing that was happening to me). The cause was only some loose lug nuts. It was really bizarre. Any way, no pictures yet, it is still raining. They are coming soon. |
| 10 /5 /98 | Ok, I finnaly took some pictures. I washed my car up and took about 20 pics. They said that it would be about a week before I get them back. So, in about a week There will be some pictures here!! :) |
| 10 /25 /98 | Damn it has been a while since I have
wrote in this thing. A lot has happend. I got the pictures developed and
scaned.. They are up now I also got my clear tail and side marker lenses. They look pretty sweet. I was kind of scepticle about getting them.. I have heard a lot of bad things about them. ie. If you get into an accident it is 100% your fault. Well I have done some research. I called the State Police and looked in Motor Vehicle Laws. Every thing that I have gathered shows that they are 100% legal, as long as they light the apropriate color. So I am going to keep them until I here other. I hope to take some more pictures w/ the clear tail lenses on. I do not know when I will get a chance but I will keep you posted. Everything is going ok.. It is still running great and all the rest is the same. My next plans are to get the windows tinted.. I am undecided of what I want done.. I am thinking either 20% all round or 20% in the back and 30% on the front windows.. I do not know. |
| 11 /7 /98 | I still have not had a chance to take the pictures of my car... For part of my birtday present, I got a set of Pilot 9000b Fog Lights.. They glow amber. They look pretty cool.. I am still thinking about the windows.. I dunno... Keep ya posted... |
| 11 /12 /98 | I finnaly did it.. I got my Windows tinted.. I know I wanted 20% for the back, but i was not sure of the front. When I got to the window tinting place, they had a car that they had just finished, that had 20% all round. It looked damn good.. So that is what I got.. It looks really different. The whole car is like totaly black now.. :) It really sucks that I have to waite 3 days to use the windows.. Man, what we take for granted. I think that my car is to the next level, were I need some more pictures.. I am goin' to take some this weekend.. |
| 11 /18 /98 | I am just waiting for the pictures to get back.. It really sucked tonight.. One of my damn Fog lights burnt out.. I should have got PIAAs... But for some reason I still Like these pilots.. they are bright as hell and look really sharp. I am planning to get a replacement bulb. |
| 11 /20 /98 | Today I got a new CD player.. I upgraded, from a CDX-C480 to a CDX-C680.. This model is really cool.. It has the flip down face.. It also has CD-Text. If you put a cd that has CD-Text, the name of the album and the tracks display on the screen.. By the way, the display on this one is like 2 times the size.. I kind of mis D-Bass :) I do have an extra RCA output for a Sub. This unit is a lot clearer and louder. I think it was a wise investment. |
| 11 /26 /98 | Today I went shopping and came across a Sony 10-Disc Changer. I could not pass by it. So, I picked it up. It is a good changer. Moble ES with ESP and custom CD file. I wanted to put it in the glove box, but it would not fit. So, I put it in the trunk for now. It is much better than changing CD every 5 min. |
| 1/ 15/ 99 | Here we are '99. This year I plan on making some engine mods and other cool mods. It has been I will since I have wrote in here. So I have a lot to say.. First of all I got and Intake.. I ordered a DC Sports DAC and waited a week and found out it was on back order.. The day after I found out, the shop called me and told me that they just got in a AEM Cold Air Intake. It was a little bit more expensive. But soposidly better. So I paid the difference. $40 bucks which brought me to $200. Not bad for an AEM. I also got a DC Sports Billet Oil Cap. Those damn things are expensive. $40 damn dollars for an oil cap. I must be insane. :) Back to the intake. The install took about an hour and a half. I was a pain. I had to take the front passenger side wheel off and take the resonator off. What a bitch. Performance wise I notice a big difference. I would definitly go with the cold air, if you can. The thing is loud as hell. Sounds cool though, and vibrates everything. It is only loud at WOT (Wide Open Throttle). And is deepest and loudest at 4500. It was definitly worth the $200 bucks. AEM kicks ass!! |
| 1/ 16/ 99 | I am in the process of making my own instructions on how to install an intake in a '94 accord. I will have pictures and steps to help. They will be up soon. Along with a picture of the AEM intake installed. It looks awsome. |
| 1/ 18 /99 | Today it rained like hell. I was kind of worried driving around with the intake on. I drove probably 25 miles in a total downpour. I figured the filter had to be soaked. I took it off when I got home to see. It was dry as a bone. So I figure everything is safe. They must design that area to stay dry. All and all, everything has been doing ok. I may need to a new clutch soon. I dumped it, reved @ 4500 and smoked for a good 20 feet. Then chirped it in second. I think that this time it did something to it. It engages almost all the way released. If I have to get a new clutch, I will get a Centerforce Dual Friction. I am going to drive on it for a while and see what happens. |
| 1/ 20 /99 | This sucks. I do have to get a new clutch. The damn thing does no engage until my foot is entirely off the pedal. And I have no force in gear changes. I am definity going to go with the Centerforce. I am going to order it from a shop in Cali. They are like $50 cheaper than the stores around here. Also, I am looking to get a VTEC controller. I want the one that is made by Field. If you know anyone that can translate Japanese, let me know. Cause they come straight from Japan. I am also looking at the AEM ajustable Cam sproket. I don't quite have my mind made up on priority. |
| 5/ 5 /99 | I noticed that the plastic ground effects and lower air damn were getting faded. They looked like crap. I decided to paint them. I bought 2 cans of primer and 3 cans of color match spray paint. I washed the plastic thougoghly, so the paint would stick. The job took me a full evening. The outcome was impressive. Almost made my car look brand new. I just hope it will hold up. |
| 5/15/99 | Today I did my the usual tune-up (oil/filter, misc. fluids) I also decided to do spark plugs, I figured that since I had never done them and I have almost put 15,000 miles on the car, It would not be a bad idea to change them out. I was looking at the different kinds of plugs, NGK, Splitfire, Champion, etc. What happened to catch my eye were the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs. They looked like a solid plug and the design is great. So, I picked up a set of them for about $24 for four. Not bad for platinum plugs. I went home and changed my oil, Mobil 1 as always. Put the plugs in, started it up, damn, the idle was significantly smoother. Later on, I drove it around the block, I noticed a smoother acceleration. Overall, I am very pleased with the plugs. |
| 6/14/99 | Ok, I am pissed, my car was broken into last night. They stole my entire system. Head Unit, Changer, Amps, subs, etc... I was parked in front of my friends house. It was raining that night. Where I was parked was kind of in a dark spot. Who ever it was, must have seen my car there before. I can't believe it. |
| 6/15/99 | Get this! My Sh*ty ass insurance plan will only pay Only pay for Head Unit / Changer! What a loss! |
| 6/10/99 | Today I noticed my brakes are going! Not so much the pads, just the rotors. They are really warped. They used to wobble only at 70 + mph. Now they wobble at 20mph! I can't take this too much longer, I am going to price OEM and cross-drilled. |
| 6/14/99 | I called my local Honda Dealer, $65 ea. Whoa! Then I called Stillen. They wanted about $100 ea. I saw in Summit they had Powerstops. I did not know if they were high quality, because they were only $70 ea. I called Summit, they said that Brembo made the rotors and Powerstop packages them. So I ordered them, then and there. I also ordered axxis pads, they were the recommended pad for the rotors. I am just going to do the front for now. |
| 6/18/99 | The rotors/pads came today. The rotors look awesome. They even say Brembo right on the rotor. On the down side, I had my first experience with a Honda Accord's front wheel hub assembly. What a pain in the ass. I could not get damn hub off of the steering knuckle. So I removed the whole knuckle and took them to a local machine shop, to have the hub pressed out. They did it in about 30 min. Overall, I do not recommend doing a rotor job on a 94 Accord. It is a nightmare! After completion of assembly, I took it for a spin. The brakes are awesome. It feels like I can stop on a dime. High speeds are even better. NO gas build up! I just touch the brake and I start to slow down. Very smooth too, no wobbles. I love them. I am very glad I decided to go with them. I highly recommend this upgrade!! I will be getting cross drilled for the back very soon! I am glad I do not have drums! |
| 6/23/99 | Today I made a major purchase. An Alpine CVA-1000!! This thing is sweet. Sounds really good. I did the install myself. The only problem is, I also got the ERG-320 Sound Proccessor. When it is conncected to the CVA brain, It makes all the line level outputs fixed. So, I can't use the built in amp to power my speakers |
| 6/24/99 | To solve my CVA problem I went to my local Audio store and bought a 5401 DEI Amp it is a decent sized 4 channel that should run all of my highs. It sounds really good. |
| 7/5/99 | I am tired of not having subs. So, today I did something about it. My friend had a new set of PPI 8's I thought I would give them a try... |
| 7/6/99 | It seems like christmas. Today I finally ordered my rims! I got Axis Wheelsite Mesh in 17x7. My car is building up nicely. |
| 7/13/99 | My rims. They finally came! Not bad considering they came from california. I got them from www.victoriatire.com This website is awsome check it out. |
| 7/14/99 | My car handles sooo much better with the wheels. Oh yea. I got 205/40/17 BF Goodrich Euro TA Tires. |
| 04/04/00 | Damn, It have been forever since I have written anything here. I have a ton of new mods on my car. I don't even know where to start. My stereo set up is totally different. I got rid of the cva, yes you heard me right I go rid of the cva. I never watched it. So, I got a different alpine unit. The double din. 3disc in dash with Tape, EQ, Sound Processor and more. It sounds better than the cva. I also have 3 JL 8 w6 subs and a PPI A600 pushing them. Still have all boston highs. It sound ok... I have done quite a bit of engine mods. I put a DC Sports Cat-back Exhaust, DC Sports Header, AEM Cam Gear, Field VTEC Controller, I can't think of anything more.. I also took my clear tail lights off, (cause they look like crap). That is all I have time for today. I will write soon, I promise. |
| 04/06/00 | Damn.. I really have been slacking. I Sent my cylinder head, intake manifold, Throttle Body, Computer, Cam out last saturday. I sent them to Gude in California. There website is www.gude.com. I was going to get a turbo kit buy Bill Gude talked me into getting his head pack. He said it is good for 40 hp. I am doing all the work myself. It has not been bad so far. I am planning on putting everything back together this Sat. Bill also said it should be good for 1 - 1 1/2 seconds off my ET. I have been taking pictures so, I will post them soon... keep you all posted.. |
| 4/11/00 | Holy crap! I finally got my Head put in. It is sweet. I had a couple of problems... It really sucked. Let me tell you what happened. I got my head back on Friday... It looked great. Everything was perfect. Bored out TB, Cam, Head, Intake Manifold, Computer... It was like Christmas! I could not wait to get the stuff in. We did not get started until about 6pm. Everything went in like a charm. I could not wait to fire it up. As I was adding fluids and double checking things. I found out that coolant was leaking out of the front of the head! I was furious. I took off the timing belt power steering pump and coolant housing in the back. Did the whole quarter turn bit on the head bolts. I lifted up the head to see what the hell was wrong. Carparts.com sent me the wrong head gasket! What bastards. They promised it would fit. "100% guaranteed to fit" sure, what a load of crap. They lost my business. They were really slow too, because they drop ship. Oh well. I ended up fixing it on Sat. When it was time to turn the key. It started right up. It sounded awesome. Then when it warmed up. The engine kept reving. Vroom, Vroom, Vroom... from like 900 to 1500 rpm... Damn.. I screwed around with vacuum lines all day Sunday.. Mon, I decided to call gude. I talked with Bill, he knew the problem right off the bat. He told me to turn the Idle control screw in 3 turns, then turn up the idle set screw.. That did not work, so he told me to take the Throttle body off and inspect it. I took it off, and to my surprise. Another gasket was screwed up.. The throttle body gasket was just a shy too small. Hmmm.. As you can see I am pretty pissed at carparts.com.. They caused me a crap load of hassle... They lost me as a customer! Any way, that fixed the engine rev problem. I took it out for a spin and damn.. It feels a lot more powerful. I am fully impressed with gude's work. I would highly recommend then to anyone that wants to go the NA route. I will keep you posted on how it is running... |
